El Guincho remains largely a creature of mystery to me, although I’ve listened to the majority of his tracks and played them often times on my show.
He provides three different locations as home base on his Myspace page, and a the latest EP of his has been titled “Piratas De Sudamerica.” Is there anything to stop us from trusting that El Guincho himself might just be a pirate?
Perhaps it’s the particular grand fantasy, and allure conjured by El Guincho’s songs which may have me concocting such wild suggestions. His most recent full length, Pop Negro, feels so very much like an ideal escape. Check out “FM Tan Sexy”:

The steel drums, along with sun soaked melodies give rise to this feeling the most, but it’azines what he does with these familiar elements that has piqued my personal interest so. There is something slightly strange, and perhaps even a tiny dark, twisting through these very tunes. I won’t be performed listening anytime soon, and maybe My spouse and i won’t toss out that pirate theory too soon either…

Trent Reznor joined up with Jason Bentley on Morning Turns into Eclectic today to talk about producing his first ever film credit score for The Social Network, about the beginnings of Facebook. As Jerr pointed out, Reznor’s score emphasized your sense of alienation the main character – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg – thinks, as well as his resentment. Reznor said hello was his goal for you to “turn it a bit more sinister and to build up – bring out some of the darkness and the emotional undertones of what’azines going on through this whole video.”
Music Director Jason Bentley using Trent Reznor by Lay Hirshowitz
Not surprisingly, he added electronic components but aanged it in an orchestral approach, referencing Tangerine Dream as a starting point. And, in a movie heavy in dialogue written by the excellent Aaron Sorkin, this individual focused on creating a music mattress that would propel scenes together but wouldn’t interfere with the voices, while also capturing the urgency and edge of modern life.
4 said it all started while he got an unexpected call from Director David Fincher (which directed the video for the Nine Inch Nails’ track “Only” and employed NIN’s music in the opening credit to his film “Seven”) to see if he was interested in credit scoring the film. He had simply gotten off a series of excursions, gotten maied and “made a pact” that he would keep himself open up and “let his brain start a family.” But, in the end, he couldn’t turn it down.
Reznor said it was an “exceptional process” working together with Fincher — that he trusted his perspective implicitly and enjoyed serving someone else.
You can download a no cost 5-track EP of the music on-line here.
Reznor also talked about the future of Nine Inch Nails, expressing his decision to stop visiting for the near future has “been caused by having the courage to ultimately say I need to stop carrying out that.”“It’s not for any insufficient love of Nine Inch Toenails but, in a lot of ways, I think it’s been keeping me stagnant in this archetype of a factor, that’s been this thing I experienced very precious about. The fact is I’m getting older and if it seems like its not as sincere mainly because it always has been to me – or maybe I’m turning into somebody new and I’m donning a mask to go play those songs — and its starting to feel that way in some ways.”When asked about whether he will ever enjoy as NIN again, he comes with a simple “perhaps.”Hear the full interview on-line in the archives here and view David Fincher’s video for “Only” under.
